FAQ

When should I order my cake?

For wedding cakes, 6-12 months in advance, call to check on availability. April through October is busy wedding season with some dates booked a year in advance. For special occasion cakes, we would like a one week notice, but call for availability. We might be able to accommodate a shorter notice.

Do you require a deposit to book our wedding date?

A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $150.00 or 25% of total order (whichever is greater) is required to book and hold your date. We accept MasterCard, Visa, check, and cash. The deposit is subtracted from your total bill.

Do I have to schedule a consultation?

Yes.  The cost of the first consultation is $50.00, payable by credit card when appointment is made. It does come off the cost of your cake if you decide to book with us.  If you feel you need a second consultation, the second one is free, then each additional consultation is $50.00.

What kinds of cake can we taste at the consultation?

Fantasies in Frosting offers 18 different cake flavors. We have a variety of flavors for the bride to taste, usually around 5-8 flavors. If you request a certain flavor, we will bake you a 6″ round cake for $10.00. Please give us one week notice for this.

Do you handle cake toppers?

At this time, we carry monogram cake toppers. They come in a variety of finishes and fonts. Stop in or call to inquire. If you order your wedding cake from Fantasies in Frosting and also order one of our monogram toppers, shipping and handling is free.

Do you offer discounts?

No, our prices are non-negotiable. If the price quoted is out of your price range, we can accommodate you by making suggestions that will fit within your budget.

What do I need to bring to my consultation?

Any color swatches you want us to match, sketches, pictures from magazines, etc. that you are envisioning to incorporate into your cake. Color swatches will be matched as closely as possible, fabric and paper swatches may or may not be reproduced in sugar form.

How many people can I bring along to my consultation?

We like to limit the consultation to 4 people, including the bride and groom. Any more than that and the bride and groom have a difficult time making a decision.

Can we bring a toddler along to our consultation?

Our request is to have adults only at the consultation. Children need attention and the bride and groom aren’t able to provide that when they are making a decision about their wedding cake.

How long does the consultation last?

We set aside a hour, although it always doesn’t last that long.

Do I need cake for all my guests?

Yes you do. Some guests might turn down a piece of cake, but other guests will eat more than one piece.

Do you deliver out of town?

At this time, we will deliver no farther than one hour from Fargo Moorhead.
